At Boston Children’s, Destiny supported the formation of a disability health equity training for staff out of the Department of Accountable Care and Clinical Care Integration (DACCI). At DACCI, Destiny also supported the Flexible Service Program which is geared at improving patient outcomes through addressing food/housing insecurity and promoting health equity.
Destiny is interested in maternal mortality and morbidity, maternal mental health, healthcare quality for children with disabilities, and doula access. In addition, Destiny is interested in research surrounding food insecurity among youth and rising colon rates in young adults. After completing the master’s program, Destiny hopes to work within the field to improve maternal health outcomes and reduce racial inequities before pursuing further education. In the future, Destiny would like to attend Physician Assistant school in an effort to provide clinical care with a specific focus on health equity.
