Sara worked at a national Native American health non-profit in Washington D.C. as a public health project coordinator for 2 years. During that time, she co-led a project on developing a Tribal specific framework for maternal morality review committees.
Sara's area's of interest in maternal and child health include maternal mortality and morbidity, maternal mental health, and midwifery models of care. She hopes to pursue a PhD after completing the masters program or some time in the future, continuing to work within the field of Maternal and Child Health to improve maternal health outcomes.
